On Thursday AFSCME District Council 48 announced its endorsement of Jim Sullivan for Milwaukee County Executive, citing Sullivan’s support for public employees:
“Jim Sullivan is the only candidate in the race for County Executive with a record of standing up for public employees,” said AFSCME Council 48 Executive Director Rich Abelson. “He stands out from the field by taking a strong stance against the privatization of county services and against the 26 furlough days which are taking valuable services from the people of Milwaukee.”
Earlier this week Sullivan received the endorsement of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District 7, and it will be interesting to see whether the rest of the major unions fall in line behind Sullivan or if they’ll support one of his opponents.
