Sullivan announces two more endorsements

On the heels of his endorsement by AFSCME District Council 48, Milwaukee County Executive candidate Jim Sullivan announced yesterday his candidacy has been endorsed by two unions representing police and firefighters:

Jim Sullivan has strongly supported the public safety community throughout his career and we know he will continue to do so as Milwaukee County Executive,” said Dave Madden, President of the West Allis Professional Police Association. “The people of Milwaukee County will be best served by Jim Sullivan’s leadership and commitment to public safety.”

Steve Tippel, President of the Professional Fire Fighters of Wisconsin Southeast Caucus said, “Jim Sullivan understands the needs of public safety and will work to ensure we have the resources to do our jobs effectively. We know Jim Sullivan is the best candidate for Milwaukee County public safety.”

It will be interesting to see if Sullivan can translate the support he’s received from labor unions into boots on the ground and financial support, because both will be critical if Sullivan is going to overcome Chris Abele’s tremendous financial advantage over Sullivan.
