Randy Hopper, family man?

Via folkbum and MAL Contends comes this little nugget:

Recall target, Sen. Randy Hopper (R-Fond du Lac), talks a good game about family values.

But protesters outside the Hopper house this week in Fond du Lac were met by his wife who reportedly came out and told them: Hopper no longer lives there, but with his 25-year-old mistress in Madison.

No confirmation on whether the divorcing wife signed that petition to recall Hopper who represents Wisconsin Senate District 18.

Hopper has been a close ally with Gov. Scott Walker whose billionaire-funded attacks on Wisconsin families is drawing international attention and widespread condemnation.

Randy Hopper filed for divorce from his wife in August 2010, and it’s being reported his soon to be ex-wife will be signing a recall petition.

As for the claim by Hopper’s soon to be ex-wife that Hopper is living in Madison with his 25-year-old mistress, I’ve received unconfirmed reports the “other woman” is Valerie Cass, who as of this morning was a lobbyist for Persuasion Partners, Inc., a right-wing lobbying firm. According to her bio on Persuasion Partners’ website (which has since been removed from their site), prior to going to work for Persuasion Partners, Cass staffed the Senate Economic Development Committee, of which Sen. Randy Hopper happened to be a member. I attempted to contact Valerie Cass to get any comment on the veracity of claims she’s in a relationship with Randy Hopper, but my email went unanswered, and as I mentioned above, any mention of Valerie Cass has been removed from the Persuasion Partners website this morning.

However, here’s a screenshot of Cass’ bio, as it appeared this morning on the Persuasion Partners website.

I contacted Persuasion Partners and confirmed Valerie Cass is no longer there, but I’ll have more on this story as it develops.

  1. Based on the conversation of where he lives:
    1. He is not represent his community
    2. Madison did not vote him in.
    3. The Bill that was signed should no longer be valid as there are two representative from Madison.

Just my two cents. . .

  2. retarded stupid republicans.i wish their mothersaborted them all.they are nothing

A question that should also be asked of the Senators residing in Illinois.”

The 14 senators holed up in Illinois have not returned to place a vote while visiting outside of their residential areas. Randy Hopper has.

  4. Looked her up in the GAB Registered Lobbying website, she’s not listed, and isn’t listed in previous years. Doesn’t look like she herself is a lobbyist or anyone else at the firm for that matter. Additionally, when you take a look at the company’s website, lobbying is not mentioned, they seem to be a campaign mail/consulting firm. (http://www.persuasionpartners.com/philosophy.html)

Let’s not distract from the real issue: Senator Hopper preaches family values, but does not practice them.

  5. The real question:

If recalled, will Hopper stand in the recall election or will he be declared ineligible to stand for recall because he doesn’t reside in his district? Either way, he’s toast with his constituents after this mess.

  6. So the issue is where he’s residing not the fact he’s banging some dumb broad while still married? This the party of family values?

  7. I think the real issue, rather than Hopper’s apparently lax views of the sanctity of marriage, is his fraudulently representing a district where he seemingly no longer lives.

  8. Wow, she’s sexy, and should have no problem sleeping her way to wherever she wants to go. I wonder where all the “talking points” (a.k.a nudez) that these Representatives use to decide what the best looking “laws to pass” are . . .

  9. Wow, I bet she has a great set of talking points.

Anyhow, I digress. I really think its unfair to be name-calling/slamming on this young woman. The only thing she is guilty of is having poor taste in men.

The REAL issue is here is someone on a party that keeps going on and on about “family values” and he is divorcing his wife and leaving her for a much younger woman and kept the whole thing hush-hush and now is apparently living with this woman in a residence OUTSIDE THE DISTRICT HE SUPPOSEDLY REPRESENTS! That is the issue. Of course, it might all be moot if it can’t be proven any of this is accurate.

  10. Sen. Erpenbach is my Senator and I have never felt more represented in my life. Why recall the Republican Senators? Because what they are doing is wrong. Because the state law allows us to do this when enough people are unhappy. The only people breaking the law are the Republicans. Illegal votes, breaking off the collective bargaining portion of the bill, changing the version between the 6pm Senate vote on March 9 and the Assembly vote on March 10th. My Senator didn’t break the law. Yours did.

  11. Yeah, let’s all just cool it with the name calling on the “other woman” in this situation. While there’s no denying she’s made some bad choices, we don’t need to resort to name calling and nastiness.

  12. @Jane:

“Take just one major issue: ABORTION. Liberals believe in a woman’s right to have one, yet they are anti death penalty.”

And .. ??? Fetal tissue does not = a living person, and the decision to seek abortion is not reached at State level.

Regardless, I’m curious as to Wisconsin’s statutory requirements of residency. Do they have any grace period to seek a new residence in-district? Did he inform the Speaker and/or whoever gathers that information that he no longer resides where he claims to reside? Does he claim per diem expenses there?

  13. Persuasion Partners also represents the mother-killing fetal fascist organization, Susan B. Anthony. Did adulteress Cass work on this account? How many abortions has SHE had to keep her whoring job? Does Hopper cheat because his wife suffers appalling childbirth complications?

    1. Okay, that’s enough. We can have a discussion without all the insults and nastiness, and if we can’t, then I’ll have to step in.

  14. The point is Wisconsin is a democratic state and people were put in place to try to change it into a redstate just because we have a lot of farms doesn’t mean we are idiots..and these transplants thought we were a bunch of idiots and they are getting called out for it. “I’m not as dumb, as you think I am!”

We might have political tiffs but all this sleeping with whoever drama and all this is redstate politics beneath the class of the true people of Wisconsin. “I’m not as dumb, as you think I am!”
