Ms. Kitzinger is telling the truth.

Ramona Kitzinger, 80 year old Democratic canvasser and hero to the right(here, here and here). NOT SO FAST though. The lady who the right wing cheddarsphere held up as a true hero and truth teller, now has been given the chance to clarify her story:

In retrospect, it seems both shocking and somewhat appalling there was no mention of discovery of this 15,000 vote “human error” that ultimately had the potential to tip the balance of an entire statewide election. How is this possible?
….
Kathy didn’t offer an explanation about why she didn’t mention anything prior to Thursday afternoon’s canvass completion, but showed us different tapes where numbers seemed to add up, though I have no idea where the numbers were coming from. I was not told of the magnitude of this error, just that she had made one. I was then instructed that I would not say anything at the press conference, and was actually surprised when I was asked questions by reporters.

It looks like Ramona is telling the truth and what happened in Walkersha County is both “shocking and appalling”. How long until the right wing blogs in the state start calling up Ms. Kitzinger and start trying to intimidate her? Maybe Michelle Malkin, conservative intellectual, will camp outside her house.

  1. Some quick points in the “I’m 80. I’m Old. I’d Get Computers” excuse.

    1) The numbers still don’t contradict with how the Brookfield Patch and the City of Brookfield had the same numbers the corrected canvass had. (Politico doesn’t seem to be believing Ms. Kitzinger much either. http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0411/Wisconsin_Dems_gird_for_Waukesha_fight.html)

    2) Are the Waukesha Co. Dems that pathetic they can’t use a real URL other than “OrchidforChange.com?”

    3) If this is the legal defense, it’s going to get eaten up.

  2. You are correct Kevin, with Nickolaus’s impeccable past and the fact that an upstanding and ethical citizen like her had the votes on her personal computer and just so happened to bring them out 2 days after one of the biggest elections in the history of the state…who can dispute that really?

At least she immediately alerted the right wing blogosphere so they could “break” the story.

    Nothing to see here….move along…

    1. Any reason you’re completely ignoring the point he made?

Why do the final numbers match up with those reported by Brookfield from the beginning? Why they match those reported by HuffPo’s local office? If Nicholas just fabricated the 7500 votes, why is it that when you add up the numbers from all of the local municipalities on the county they match up the final numbers from the county? Or is everyone in on it?

      1. Actually I was addressing point #3. I was ignoring point #2 because it made no sense and I am waiting on point #1. Maybe prosser did win, but the fishy smell coming from Walkersha county is too much to ignore.

        1. What are you still waiting for on point #1? It seems to me that the fact that the Brookfield Patch ran the votes the day before pretty conclusively demonstrates that they weren’t the result of any fraud on Nickolaus’s part. A “fishy” smell is one thing – and nobody doubts that there was mammoth incompetence here – but I’ve yet to hear anybody claiming fraud point to any specific fact that supports their claim.

  3. You have to admit, though, gas-lighting grannies is a nice touch if you’re going for the real douchebag gusto.

  4. I think the Brookfield votes are a device to distract us from some other dishonest voting scam on the part of the Republican party. Those votes were reported on election night by Lisa Sink at BrookfieldPatch. Setting up an outrageous argument that we can only lose is par for the Republicans. I think we need to look at touch screens used around the state for accessibility purposes, and/or other ballot box stuffing or vote stealing scams. We’re wasting time and energy trying to discredit the already discredited Waukesha County Clerk. I’ve written a little more about this here.

  5. Right. And I’ve lived in “Brookfield City” the last 17 years.

BTW, note the bit about the published notice for the canvas. That’s what will trigger the lawsuit.

Spend that money, lefties. Spend that money.

    1. What a coincidence. I was just thinking, “What we really need here is some dingbat linguistic analysis!” Now all we’re missing is a kerning expert.

    2. Cindy, I have no clue what you’re on about. Congratulations on your lengthy tenure in Brookfield, the second largest city in Waukesha County. I understand that there is a heron rookery on a site northwest of Capitol Drive and Brookfield Road. It’s not clear whether or not the birds have actually been registered to vote nor is it clear how many had provided absentee ballots for this election. We’re looking into it.

      1. I’ve noticed Cindy also thinks Doug LaFollette has a “God complex”, and should be recalled, for having the temerity to think he’s endowed the power to publish state laws.

        “Fairly” indeed.

  6. Recount every single vote from Beloit to Superior and lets see what really happened. I agree lets spend the money for the recount and put it in the papers every single day and show everyone how incompetently the republicans run government. free advertising for the recalls.

  7. Jeff’s on the money- Let’s turn this recount statewide, and barring something goofy in Milwaukee County tomorrow, the state will be the ones who’ll pay for it. As they should, because democracy is much more important than who wins and loses elections.

Let’s just say I wouldn’t be surprised to see funny business in places other than (allegedly) double-entering Brookfield. Do you put it past these people to cheat wide-scale?
