Republican-backed recall effort allegedly hires out of state felon to collect signatures

How desperate are Wisconsin Republicans getting in their attempts to recall the Democratic State Senators who are eligible to be recalled?

So desperate they’ve allegedly hired convicted felons to do canvassing to collect signatures:

s Democrats around the State canvass areas to gain enough signatures to recall the remaining 6 of 8 Republican Senators it appears that the Republican Party in charge of the committee to recall Senator Dave Hansen has had trouble finding volunteers. So they have enlisted the help of felons out of the state of Colorado. Yes that’s right my friends, those people for the Republican Party coming to your door asking for your signature to recall Senator Hansen is probably a felon and as your attention is focused on saying no as you push the clipboard away, that felon is scoping out your home or car for souvenirs’ to take home to Colorado with them.

According to police reports, the convicted felon in question is Brent Levi Harrell, a felon from Colorado who stole a jacket and backpack from Lambeau Field while staying at a hotel in Green Bay. According to PolitiScoop’s sources, Harrell was staying at the Roadstar Inn in Green Bay to collect signatures for the recall effort against Democratic State Senator Dave Hansen.

  1. yeah what the hell was he thinking not doing FBI background checks on people working to support his cause. You know what i recently found out that is equally disturbing : the guys selling hot dogs and beer at the stadium that dat, also had two prior drug convictions and a probation violation on record. i mean what are these people doing working? shouldnt they be locked in a hole somewhere? even the guy who directs parking traffic, himself, has several parking viokations as well as.a $34 bounced check at a gas station over two years ago. I say we do this: if someone gas any records on ccap, they aren’t allowed to do any type of work, even if it’s volunteer. Fuck That! We will shovel our own snow, right Wisconsin? We don’t want anyone that’s ever made a mistake and gotten caught to ever be able to get a job or be involved in a cause again. It’s like they feel like they are equal to regular people. They just don’t get it.

    1. So Scott, if the tables were turned and it were revealed that Democrats had hired a violent convicted felon to gather signatures for one of their recall efforts, and that convicted felon ended up committing a new crime while he was collecting signatures, you’d be forgiving of it?

I’m betting the answer is no.

  2. That article is bullshit. They aren’t allowed out of that state unless they have served the proper time and punishment for what they did in the past. You say “I mean what are these people doing working?” , but if it were you, hell yeah you would jump at any job possible because no one else would hire you. So sit on that a minute.
