Whoops…James Lazear supports Jeff Stone:

I was trying to relax this evening, steeling myself for the return to the work week tomorrow morning, by reading the Crossroads section of today’s Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. There are four interesting support pieces related to Tuesday’s elections…support for AAG Kloppenburg, Judge Prosser, Chris Abele and Rep. Jeff Stone. The Rep. Stone piece was written by James Lazear, a Glendale business owner who often provides conservative op-ed pieces for the MJS. You can read the piece here!

But ignoring the other issues with Rep. Stone’s candidacy, I was intrigued by this sentence from Mr. Lazear’s commentary rather telling:

So I asked a friend of mine who is a lobbyist for a large Milwaukee institution if she could arrange a lunch for me with the candidate. The next day, I was seated across from Stone at a restaurant on the west side of Milwaukee.

So, to arrange a meeting with Rep. Stone, Mr. Lazear had to use a lobbyist as an intermediary? He couldn’t just call Rep. Stone’s campaign office to get a lunch date? He couldn’t reach out to his office in the Capitol in Madison and arrange an opportunity to meet? He felt it necessary to use a lobbyist? Really? Seesh.
