Kinda fitting, dontcha think?

From Cognitive Dissidence comes this gem:

In case it wasn’t obvious, Pure Pleasure II is an adult store with a rather storied history of problematic patrons, so it seems only fitting to find a large Randy Hopper sign nearby, given Hopper’s rather storied history when it comes to all things romantically-related.

  1. Not that it would be that shocking for a politician to be that stupid, but I’ll bet a dollar that it’s fake. Not a Photoshop job – the sign was probably really there & it’s a real photo, but put there by someone who’s not a fan of Hopper to make him look bad. Google Maps has a good street view shot of the buildings, and there’s no sign in the window. The building is empty – the business that was there has re-located.

    1. “put there by someone who’s not a fan of Hopper to make him look bad”

Yes. An unwarranted stain on an otherwise sterling reputation.

You do understand that Google street view isn’t real-time, right?

PS…”enter in the rear”. LMAO. All class.

    3. What a lame commentary. While amusing, it doesn’t really prove any sort of real argument about anything.

  2. Locke,

I am pretty tech illiterate and do not know how Google maps works, but the picture of my house on Google Maps is at least 3 years old.

  3. You’re absolutely correct – I should’ve been more clear about that. I didn’t mean that because there wasn’t a sign in the window on Street View, that proves anything conclusive, because it doesn’t. But it looks like the side of the building where the Hopper sign is was vacant then – and the other half – Accu-Com Security has recently moved out according to their website.

Could be that the vacant property next to an adult bookstore – and presumably very cheap rent – was all too much for Hopper to resist & he’s leasing the space for office space. Just seems much, much more likely to me that somebody who doesn’t like Hopper put the sign up.

  4. I think Locke may be onto something. Given what’s been going on throughout the blogosphere you’d have to be a record breakingly stupid Hopper supporter to do somethiong like this.

    It is funny, though.
