Manny Perez out as DWD Secretary

Boy, that was quick!

Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development Secretary Manuel “Manny” Perez announced today he has resigned from the post and will pursue new opportunities in the private sector.

Perez’s resignation comes just five months after he was appointed to the post by Gov. Scott Walker.

“I’ll be exploring business opportunities,” Perez told BizTimes at the BizTech Conference & Expo today.

I can’t wait to hear the real reason why Manny Perez resigned, because I’m betting there’s more to this story than Manny Perez has simply decided he should be “exploring business opportunities.”

  1. I just heard that he did not necessarily quit as he was escorted from the building by the Capitol Police. The true story of this should be interesting.

  2. “Left to pursue other interests,” pretty generally means that someone held the door while someone else jerked the rug.
