Apparently Scott Walker doesn’t believe that actions speak louder than words

Speaking to his biggest fa- I mean, the editorial board of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Republican Gov. Scott Walker made it clear that he just doesn’t understand how Wisconsin has become to polarized since he took office (added emphasis):

“Where has the polarization come from, where have the attacks come from? They haven’t come from anything we’ve said,” Walker said.

Clearly Scott Walker isn’t a believer in the notion that actions speak louder than words, because if he did he’d know exactly where the polarization in Wisconsin has come from: Scott Walker and his Republican allies in the state legislature.

Wisconsin became as polarized as it is right now when gubernatorial candidate Scott Walker described public employees as “haves” and taxpayers as “have nots,” a shameful ploy to pit Wisconsinites against Wisconsinites in order to divide us.

Wisconsin became as polarized as it is right now when Scott Walker, who never uttered a single word about public employee collective bargaining rights as a gubernatorial candidate, decided to propose a repeal of nearly all collective bargaining rights for public employees under the auspices of “budget repair” while admitting under oath to Congress that repealing collective bargaining rights for public employees will have no fiscal impact on balancing Wisconsin’s budget.

Wisconsin became as polarized as it is right now when Republicans in the state legislature tried to ram through Gov. Walker’s union busting proposal with as little debate and consideration from Democrats as possible.

Wisconsin became as polarized as it is when Scott Walker and his Republican allies tried to limit citizens’ access to the State Capitol, despite the fact that the state Constitution makes it clear the Capitol should remain accessible to citizens.

And Wisconsin became as polarized as it is when Scott Walker and his Republican allies in the legislature declared open war on education, the social safety net, and the lower and middle classes in the 2011-2013 biennial budget.

If Scott Walker really wants to know how and why Wisconsin has become so polarized, all he needs to do is look in the mirror to find the answer to his question.

    1. GnarlyT, how did your brain get SO damn big, your sense of humor SO damn hip, and your political insight SO damn keen?

“Schwerpunktprinzip”?! Man! I stand in awe.

U “the man”, my brother [or sister]. Ya hit the sweet spot EVERY time.

      Rock on.

      1. Schwerpunktprinzip refers to a point of maximum effort by which a decisive operation can be achieved. When Walker, with his keen political insight, referred to “drop[ping] the bomb” on unions, this was synonymous with Schwerpunktprinzip.

        1. @ Wisconsin Hypothesis

Yeah, I got the reference after looking up “Schwerpunktprinzip”.

I was just saying that GnarlyT is pretty deep.

Truth is, from what I’ve seen, there is great depth on the Left, GnarlyT being a good example of that (you, Wisconsin Hypothesis, being another, for that matter), very little true depth on the Right.

That said, while generally being wrong in his analysis of the issues here, Locke undeniably does not swim in the shallow end of the “pool”, as most on the Right seem to.

You both rock, GnarlyT and Wisconsin Hypothesis, for different reasons. GnarlyT, the funny, witty, deeply intelligent, “probably used to drop acid, then write an A+ term paper”, iconoclast. Wisconsin Hypothesis, the professorial academic.

I’m just glad that we’re all on the same side!

Rock on, my brothers [or sisters]. . .

          1. I just got tired of saying blitzkrieg. And I have a fetish for German nouns.

            1. “I have a fetish for German nouns.”

If I had a dollar for every time that Notalib said something like that. . .

  1. Walker is right about one thing – the polarization is immense. He’s just clueless about the cause.

Case in point: My mother is a public school teacher. I had lunch with her last week, and she imparted to me the sad story of what happened when one of her colleagues went to the doctor for a procedure. The nurse found out that her patient was a public school educator and promptly began telling her captive audience how glad she is that “Scott Walker is sticking it to you teachers.” That’s a direct quote.

Polarization doesn’t even begin to describe that level of bile and hatred.
