Says Democratic State Sen. Chris Larson, in reference to Republicans in the legislature rushing through their radical redistricting plan:
“There is no reason why the state should be moving at such a careless speed,” said Sen. Larson. “Such actions will negate months of work by local officials, circumvent the open and transparent public hearing process and waste additional taxpayer funds.”
In moving to approve their redistricting maps before counties and municipalities have finished drawing their ward lines, Republicans in the legislatures have made it abundantly clear that they’re more interested ramming through a redistricting plan that’s extremely favorable to the Republican Party, at the expense of the “local control” that they say they’re so fond of giving to local governments.
If Republicans in the legislation really cared about giving more “local control” to local governments, then they would have done what lawmakers in Wisconsin have done for decades – they would have waited for local governments to draw their ward lines before passing a redistricting plan in Madison.
Does the GOP have any idea what they look like? They are behaving like they are paranoid. They are completely out of touch with what is going on around them, including in their own party. (I have long ago given up on imagining that they read anything except their own scribbling on napkins.) They are the political equivalent of, “Political Meth Addicts.” Their minds are moving at 150 mph, they run around in a cold sweat and when they should be listening (or driving attentively) they are busy scratching themselves.

Or at least clue the locals in on their Boris and Natasha scheme. They sat there at watched all those people waste their time. Unbelievable scumbaggery.
Yeah, I’ve seen an estimate that the Republican rush to redistrict will cost Milwaukee taxpayers $40,000 in money that’s now been thrown down the drain drawing lines that Republicans just obliterated with their plan.
But remember….Republicans in Madison are responsible stewards of our money!
Why do we continue to point out GOP hypocrisy? These guys don’t care what we think. No amount of blogging will change their minds.
