President Obama touring the Midwest but can’t fit Wisconsin into his busy schedule

So President Barack Obama has already started his three day rural tour of the Midwest, a tour that will see President Obama make stops in Minnesota, Iowa, and Illinois.

However, one place President Obama most definitely won’t be setting foot in is Wisconsin. Though the president will be making a stop in Peosta, Iowa, which is only about 15 miles from the Wisconsin border, the president definitely will NOT….I repeat will NOT be making a stop in Wisconsin. Apparently President Obama is either too busy making two stops each in Iowa and Illinois or Wisconsin just isn’t rural enough for his liking.

It is worth noting that with the exception of a January 26, 2011 stop at Orion Energy Systems in Manitowoc, President Obama has not stepped foot in Wisconsin, despite the massive protests against Republican Gov. Scott Walker’s attacks on public employees, protests that prompted President Obama to barely mention Wisconsin at all.

  1. Fine by me.

    hey, yanno…
The other day, while watching a spot on how the Koch Bros. worked to f-up a school board election in N. Carolina so that school s can now more accurately reflect economic disparity and segregate Whitey McWhite children from those of different backgrounds…it was prob’ly on Dem. Now but not sure… anyways I realized THE WINNING CAMPAIGN STRATEGY for Obama 2012

    drum roll please

    srsly this is it

“Vote Obama! Because keeping a somewhat Black man in the Oval Office for another 4 years just to annoy the livin’ shit outta the Koch Brothers is all we have left”

    and the crowd goes wild….

  2. I couldn’t find it with a quick search, but do you recall the president saying something along the lines of “if there is an assault on unions anywhere, I will be there standing right beside you”?

By the way, nice “Sexy Russians” ad. I know, you don’t pick ’em.

  3. I believe at the height of the protests last winter, Obama was asked directly about why he wasn’t more publicly engaged in what was going in in WI. He gave some kind of ‘hey, I’m kind of busy putting out fires here in Washington if you haven’t noticed’ kind of answer, and at the time the unofficial reasoning was that he didn’t want to give Republicans any more reason to attack the protesters.
That’s long gone and there is no reason he can’t benefit himself and us by stopping by. He seems to be assuming he’s got WI no matter what. He should be scheduling a ‘Voter Suppression Tour’, appearing in places where Dems, independents, elderly and poor people are going to get screwed by the new redistricting and voter registration laws.
His advisers have no imagination and can’t see past tomorrow.

  4. Why does he never go to inner cities where there are no jobs and no hope. why is it always white America only on his trips?

  5. sarah, he can start by showing up at one of the five Federal (his turf) post offices being considered for closing in the entire SE WI area, all in Milwaukee’s central city.

  6. Obama had to cut out Wisconsin to have time for Martha’s Vineyard. Are you guys starting to recognize that Obama’s Presidency isn’t about service, it’s about living large on our dime?

People lambasted Bush for golfing during hard times. Obama has teed up far more often than GW ever did.

    1. Roland, President Obama has taken 61 days of vacation since being inaugurated. At this time in his presidency, GWB had taken twice that number of vacation days.

Anything else you’d like me to debunk?

  7. There’s not much doubt you’re on to something, Zach. Especilly considering WI was on of his most frequent stopping points the 1st 2 years.
