Republican Gov. Kasich of Ohio wants to compromise on public employee union busting bill

Looks like Ohio’s Republican Governor John Kasich and his Republican allies in Ohio’s legislature have come to their senses about Senate Bill 5, Ohio’s own union-busting bill that attacked public employees and their rights to collectively bargain:

Gov. John Kasich and fellow Republicans William Batchelder, Ohio House speaker from Medina, and Senate President Tom Niehaus of New Richmond, offered today to revise the controversial collective bargaining law, known as Senate Bill 5, if public unions will drop their campaign to repeal the bill on the November ballot.

It’s just too bad the citizens of Wisconsin can’t challenge legislation through ballot initiatives, because I’m betting repealing the budget repair bill enacted here in Wisconsin would be a far easier task than recalling Gov. Walker.
