The repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell – servicemember calls his dad to tell him “I am gay” (VIDEO)

Yesterday marked the official end of the U.S. military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy which barred openly gay, lesbian, or bisexual persons from military service. Not surprisingly the world did not come to an end as a result of the official repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, nor did the U.S. armed forces break down.

When “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” officially ended at midnight yesterday, YouTube user AreYouSurprised, who had only videotaped himself from the neck down previously, videotaped himself calling his dad to reveal his sexual orientation.

Equality – it’s a good thing.
