Here’s the details of a campaign reception/fundraiser being held on behalf of Milwaukee aldermanic candidate Chez Ordonez, who’s challenging incumbent Ald. Bob Donovan:
Reception in honor of Chez Ordonez hosted by Andy Nunemaker at his home 2239 N Terrace Avenue in Milwaukee
6pm
Suggested contribution is $75
Refreshments will be available.
that’s in the 8th aldermanic district?
I don’t believe so. In fact, I’m pretty sure it’s nowhere near the 8th district.
Just to be clear, I think it’s saying that is the address of host Andy Nunemaker’s home, not Ordonez’s.
Sure, but it seems odd to have a fundraiser outside the district you want to represent.
Every city candidate does that in every election (and every candidate for every office in the state and country, for that matter – state senators holding fundraisers in Madison, Congressmen holding fundraisers in DC, etc). I don’t find that odd. I find the finding below more than odd though!
ALTHOUGH….per the election commission filings (Excel file), Ordonez lives at 4727 W Lloyd St, which is ALSO nowhere near the 8th!
Yeah, there’s that too. I wasn’t gonna go there, but thanks for pointing that out!
If we look at a redistricted map is the Lloyd St address in the 8th?
If Milwaukee’s rules are the same as the state’s, he wouldn’t have to live in the district while he’s running; he’d just need to move to the district before he takes office.
Then again, not sure folks would take kindly to someone who doesn’t live in their district running.
I realize that it is not Mr. Ordonez’s home…just curious why his first big fundraiser isn’t on home turf.
I am absolutely sure it’s not in the 8th…just wondering who has the better lake view…me or him!
just checked Google street view…I do!
I don’t believe this was his first big fundraiser, as there is an event listed on bloggingblue just a few weeks ago on the 18th….
