WTF-Mart

Some new analysis shows that six members of the Walton family, (the children and a daughter-in-law of Wal-Mart founders Sam and James Walton),  have a collective wealth equal to that of the bottom 30% of the Amerrican people.

And yet, citing rising health care costs, Wal-Mart recently announced it would be cutting health insurance benefits to new part time workers and raising the premiums of some fulltime workers.

And this after a 2005 internal memo authored by a Wal-Mart vice president acknowledged that 46% of the children of Wal-Mart’s then 1.3 million American employees were either on Medicaid or had no health insurance.

WTF-Mart, indeed.

  1. It needs to be pointed out that the “People of Walmart” website would not be in existence without the hard work of this family. Just sayin’.
