Charlie Sykes on the recall and its detractors

He writes,

[Opponents] derided the recall supporters as a “lynch mob,” but outsiders who saw only the anger misunderstood the depth of the outrage. Supporters were neither puppets nor radicals: they were taxpayers who had raised their families [here], bought homes, paid taxes, and played by the rules all their lives. They remembered when [this place] was known for its efficiency and integrity, and were offended at the insult to both their intelligence and their integrity.

I would like to thank Mr. Sykes for his support of grassroots and common sense here in the effort to recall Scott Walker, beaca–

Oops.  My bad.  Sykes wrote that in 2002 (pdf), back when taxpayers and citizens uniting to defeat insult and dishonesty was something to celebrate.

Now, of course, Sykes is in the tank for that insult and dishonesty, and is himself the one throwing around charges of radicalism and underestimating the depths of our outrage.

Oh, how the pickle turns. How. It. Turns.
