Rick Santorum Says Whatever Pops Into His Head

Any old “santorum” will do.

“We went into a recession in 2008 because of gasoline prices. The bubble burst in housing because people couldn’t pay their mortgages because we’re looking at $4 a gallon gasoline,” he said. “And look at what happened: economic decline.”

Economists have said the recession, which began in late 2007, was prompted by years of skyrocketing housing prices and shady lending practices that allowed people to borrow more money than they could afford.

Wow, Rick, you’re not even close on this one…

  1. Yes well, the recession wouldn’t have been so bad if banks hadn’t sold all those near worthless GBS (Gasoline Backed Securities) around the world and crashed the financial system. Of course, the fault really lies with the poor who were buying gas with food stamps, when they weren’t using them to pay for abortions, thus increasing demand beyond the capacity to produce which caused my barber to raise the price of his hair-cuts by $5.00, forcing me to cancel my subscription to the Wisconsin State Journal.

    I’m feeling a little dizzy now….
