Everytime Rush Limbaugh says something stupid, the right wing echo chamber pulls out the bill maher card as if its even remotely relevant. I am not going to discuss how ridiculous that comparison is here but instead point out one of the best things that Bill Maher has done. That is introduce us to Astrophysicist Neil de Grasse Tyson.

In this slow economy the calls are everywhere to “shrink government”. The fact that they have ssucceeded on doing so in some levels shows us why we are still in an economic downturn. Here in a brilliant clip, Tyson explains to the Fox viewers how important NASA is, and that it is an INVESTMENT in America NOT an expense.

Of course actual economic talk will go right over the head of most fox viewers but you can ask yourself, why do we perpetually cut the NASA budget? what about an investment don’t they get? The answer is pretty simple:

Because we have guys like this in charge!

  1. You have to understand, shrinking the government isn’t a method, it’s an objective so it becomes the answer to every question regardless of the impact on the economy, on people or on the nation.

    Shrinking government is a first-order priority at all times.
