If This Country Is A Right Leaning Country,

Why do they have to buy their friends? A couple of stories have come to light lately that confirms what many progressives have thought for years. A Grassroots movement does not exist on the right they are just well funded.

The first story, tells us that Clear Channel Communications hires actors to call their shows(Rush/Hannity, etc…).

But according to an online account, Premiere is hiring actors to fake on-air calls to radio shows who do not divulge the scam. Before being abruptly removed, their website read:

“Premiere On Call is our new custom caller service… We supply voice talent to take/make your on-air calls, improvise your scenes or deliver your scripts. Using our simple online booking tool, specify the kind of voice you need, and we’ll get your the right person fast. Unless you request it, you won’t hear that same voice again for at least two months, ensuring the authenticity of your programming for avid listeners”.

As reported, once the actor “passed the audition, he would be invited periodically to call in to various talk shows and recite various scenarios that made for interesting radio.” In addition, the source was specifically told there would be no on-air disclosure of the fabricated nature of the call. He subsequently landed the job, at $40 per hour and a minimum one hour of work per day.

Then not content on just having the Rush/Hannity shows being fake, now they have moved their astroturf sites to Twitter.

Researchers have found evidence that political campaigns and special-interest groups are using scores of fake Twitter accounts to create the impression of broad grass-roots political expression. A team at Indiana University used data-mining and network-analysis techniques to detect the activity.

“We think this technique must be common,” says Filippo Menczer, an associate professor at Indiana University and one of the principal investigators on the project. “Wherever there are lots of eyes looking at screens, spammers will be there; so why not with politics?”

I know that does not say that it is about republican causes only, until we dig in a little more:

Menczer says the research group uncovered a number of accounts sending out duplicate messages and also retweeting messages from the same few accounts in a closely connected network. For instance, two since-closed accounts, called @PeaceKaren_25 and @HopeMarie_25, sent out 20,000 similar tweets, most of them linking to, or promoting, the House minority leader John Boehner’s website, gopleader.gov.

In another case, 10 different accounts were used to send out thousands of posts, many of them duplicates slightly altered to avoid detection as spam. All of the tweets linked back to posts on a conservative website called Freedomist.com.

Just know, the “silent majority” that the righties in Wi like to talk about, are on the payroll!

    1. 1. Richard Trumka doesn’t speak for the million or so people in Wisconsin who are on record as wanting Walker gone.

      2. “So what?” is NOT synonymous to “Yes, it’s all true.”

      3. The “they”, OFA, weren’t even in Wisconsin when the rumors of people being “bused in from out of state to protest” started circulating.

      4. Why, in a city like Madison, would anybody need to bus in protesters when there’s an ample supply of pissed-off local residents more than willing to do it, and do it without being asked first?

If you like I can shower you with many photos of cars with Utah license plates and pro-Walker slogans painted on their windows coming and going in my neighborhood. Ironically the cars just sit around when they’re here because their owners are taken to wherever they do whatever they do by bus.

  1. wow did you not get what trumka said. Did you even watch the clip? i was actually at the press conference, trumka had nothing to do with the protests in Madison, that all lays on Scott Walker shoulders

  2. Did YOU watch the tape?

He is asked if the Wisconsin protests were astroturfed by the unions and he said “So What”.

Obviously you do not understand this statement so I will explain it. The liberals accuse the Republicans of astroturfing but they lie. Only the liberal protests are astroturfed.

  3. No, he said some are accusing these protests as being astroturfed and he said “so what”.

If there is anything we have learned recently, is is to stop listening to the James Wigderson’s, the MacIvers, the mediatrackkkers, etc… because they have no substance and are being paid handsomely to distort the facts. if wiggy accuses you of something ,so what.

Trumka could not have been more correct.

  4. @Tom: Simple answer regarding Trumka. He wasn’t the topic. Your comment is nothing more than an attempt to sidetrack the conversation. Why don’t you try to explain the need by right-wing talk show hosts for fake call-ins.

    1. This is your typical liberal idiot projecting. Accuse your opponent of everything your are doing, maybe no one will notice.

  5. Tom, thats a page from the karl rove playbook actually but I welcome you to find a place where democrats have hired people to call in to progressive talk or have hired people to start a fake grassroots online movement.
