Elkhart factory to close, 210 jobs moving to Illinois (UPDATED)

Wait….I thought Illinois was such a terrible place to do business?!?!?!?

210 workers at an Elkhart factory are about to lose their jobs.

Gunite Corporation today announced plans to shut down its Elkhart plant by early 2013. The company will move its local manufacturing operations to Rockford, Ill.

Yet another example of anti-worker Republican elected officials failing to create jobs in their states.

  1. I’m from Westville, Illinois, in the east central part of the state, and I’ve met several ex-Wisconsinites who have moved to my region of Illinois because they can’t find work in Wisconsin. Unfortunately, most of the ex-Wisconsinites that I’ve met are rabidly pro-Walker.

I have met a couple of ex-Wisconsinites that have moved to my neck of the woods in Illinois who are quite progressive, one blamed Walker for “picking a fight with teachers for no reason”, another personally knew Lori Compas and thought highly of her.

  2. Elkhart is in Indiana, not Wisconsin! It looks like Mitch Daniels is creating jobs in Illinois!

Scott Walker and Mitch Daniels have done more for Illinois than they have for the states they actually govern.
