Keep an eye on Tuesday’s Transportation budget discussion at the Joint Finance Committee. LFB reported last week that the Trans Fund now has a $63 million deficit, even with the $300 million in extra borrowing with Walker’s budget.

So I’m guessing more than a few WisGOP legislators will try to raid the UW System’s “surplus” (even though it’s non-tax funds) and move those funds to Transportation. Walker’s budget already funnels $94 million from taxes into the Trans. Fund, so this would just add to the payoff to the Road Builders.
