Sheriff David Clarke is a petty, small man

What does Milwaukee County Sheriff David “Keystone Cop” Clarke think of Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele’s proposal to cut $12 million in funding from Clarke’s budget for 2014?

Read for yourself.

“Abele should be drug tested. He has to be on heroin to be hallucinating with that wild proposal. He might go to bed at night dreaming about being a Sheriff, but when he wakes up he’s the same vindictive little man that he was when he went to sleep. This is how budgets end up bleeding red ink.

I don’t work for him. I will provide the level of safety that I believe Milwaukee County residents deserve. He’ll have to sue me in court to get me to accept those cuts.”

Apparently Sheriff Clarke needs a basic lesson on how Milwaukee County government works, so here goes:

The County Executive proposes a budget, the County Board approves a budget, and the County Sheriff accepts whatever is budgeted to his department.

What seems to be lost on David Clarke is the fact that once the budget is finalized, he’ll get whatever the County Executive and the County Board allocate to him – not a penny more or a penny less, and he’s a moron for not understanding that.

While some may find Sheriff David Clarke’s statement outrageous, especially considering this is the same man who once accused Chris Abele of having “penis envy,” I actually pity David Clarke. After all, it’s obvious he desperately wants to be much more than Sheriff of Milwaukee County, but he knows by now that he has no chance of ever getting elected to any office other than the one he currently holds.

Hopefully Clarke won’t hold his office for too much longer though, because Chris Moews stands ready to knock Clarke out of office.
