Thursday music: Steve Carlson – Sorry Sons A Bitches

I grew up listening to my mom’s country music compilation albums, and I grew up around a lot of guys who lived like some of those songs. So here’s one for them, wherever they may be.

  1. Protestant work ethic guilt, meets male “responsibility,” entwined in usury labor capitalist slavery to the corporate profit, country blues. LOL, deep, enjoyed this. Thanks

Wish I could afford to buy the music. Have sent this to those who might be able to.

  2. NQ,

Send your physical address to Zach and I’ll mail him a record to mail to you. I can’t afford to disappoint a single one of my dozens of fans.

    1. No way to play, “records,” here, Zach may send you my email, my people can talk with your people. ;^)

  3. Curiosity finally got to me. Does this guy SC sound like a combination of Burl Ives, Gordon Lightfoot and Hank Williams? One way to find out. I did the capitalist thing and purchased the cd online today. Tentatively add me to the list of dozens of fans. Aw what the heck, add me to the fan list. Let me know when you play a gig in the Madison area. The Roxbury Tavern would be a fine veniew.

  4. NQ,

You have no way to play a CD? How will I unload the remaining several hundred of them if people like you have no way to play a CD?

    IG,

Thanks for the promotional comment. I’m strictly a recording artist/songwriter. Haven’t done a live show in a long, long time, though I do enjoy the occasional karaoke outing. I hope you enjoy my mostly dark, brooding vision of contemporary American life.

    1. I took, “records,” literally, but was intentionally joking a bit there, I’m old enough to have had a decent collection of LPs (too many) decades ago, except that I skipped purchasing music and the equipment “upgrades” in the subsequent new formats after that. Wanted to correspond on politics along with music as per my previous comment regarding e-address. Drop me a line, please.
