Geenen campaign announces spate of endorsements

From my email inbox comes news of a spate of endorsements of the candidacy of Sara Geenen, one of four Democrats vying to replace Rep. Jon Richards in the State Assembly.

Sara Geenen, State Assembly candidate in the 19th District, has been actively meeting with and securing endorsements from various organizations that represent Milwaukee’s working families. Many organizations have come out in support of Sara and her candidacy because they believe she is the best candidate to represent the citizens of Milwaukee’s East Side, Downtown, Third Ward, Bay View, and working families all across Wisconsin.

The United Steelworkers District #2, Teamsters Local Union No. 344, Teamsters Local Union No. 200, the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers District #10, and the International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Workers Local #18 have publicly endorsed Geenen’s campaign for State Assembly.

When asked about his organization’s endorsement, Michael Bolton, Director of the United Steelworkers District #2, stated, “We are confident Sara Geenen is the right person to represent Milwaukee’s working families in Madison. We know that she will fight tirelessly in the Capitol for good, family-supporting jobs. The state needs a voice like Sara’s in Madison now more than ever.” Tom Millonzi, Secretary-Treasurer of Teamsters Local 200, echoed this sentiment, “Sara has shown us, time and again, that she is a strong advocate for workers and retirees, and for what is right and fair. We are proud to stand with Sara.”

In response to the outpouring of support with these endorsements, Geenen stated, “I am extremely proud to have not only received the support from these labor and trade organizations, but to also provide a voice for all working families in my candidacy for State Assembly. For too long, the voices of the hardworking citizens of Milwaukee, and all of Wisconsin, have been disregarded by politicians in Madison. If elected as Milwaukee’s next Assembly member, I pledge to be a strong advocate for fairness, equality and opportunity for all Wisconsin families.”
