Tommy Thompson encourages Republicans in Milwaukee County to vote as Democrats

Yesterday some Democrats in Milwaukee County received a mailer in their mailboxes from former Republican Gov. Tommy Thompson, who wants Republicans in Milwaukee County to cross over and vote as Democrats to help Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke beat his real Democratic opponent on August 12.

Here’s the mailer.

The fact that Tommy Thompson has been enlisted to help prop up Sheriff Clarke’s flagging reelection campaign by encouraging Republicans to vote as Democrats on August 12 speaks volumes about how much trouble the Clarke campaign is in heading into the August 12 primary.

  1. “speaks volumes about how much trouble the Clarke campaign is in heading into the August 12 primary.”

    Bullseye.

  2. One would think that Dick “dirty tricks” Nixon had come back from the dead. Any chance they’ll try the same with Burke getting Republicans to cross over for Hulsey even if just to make her numbers look bad. After all they did steal the Burke web name and are trying to fool the public with it. I’m in my 70’s and can’t wrap my head around how dirty the Republicans have become in their effort to have total power over everything and everyone in Wisconsin. They act like slick pitchmen at a carnival rather than public servants who represent our state. ALEC finger prints are all over them and those who don’t like to feel dirty leave the arena such as Schultz, Jauch and Cullen even when they are in the Democratic party!

    1. I’ve sent Burke $50 and plan to vote for her in the general.

I’m seriously considering voting for Hulsey in the primary.

  3. Wondering if any, “news,” outlet has confirmed TT’s approval of the mailing.

Not familiar enough with all the Milwaukee Republican races to know who else might benefit or be hurt by any cross-over if it happened, OR, then again if cross-over voters felt like making their time at the polls work further up the ballot to theoretically help Walker, at the same time give Hulsey a nod against Burke.

    With that, back to work.
