It’s been a long, long time since I wrote a ” Kook of the Month ” post for Blogging Blue. Too long.
And while any good writer properly abhors a cliche’, when it comes to kooks GOP State Rep Jesse Kremer truly is the quintessential definition of low hanging fruit, if you’ll pardon the overtired expression.
As is readily known by now to anyone paying any attention whatsoever to Wisconsin politics, Kremer announced recently, as fact, that the earth is 6,000 years old. Not 5,999 or 6001, but 6,000. It’s Kremer’s biblical belief, so it’s a fact.
The jokes write themselves, i.e.: Does this mean Jesus rode a Tyrannosaurus Rex into Jerusalem? Was Barney Rubble one of the original twelve disciples? When Moses was given the Ten Commandments did he shout ” Yabba Dabba Doo! “. Were dinosaurs just forgetful?
So congrats to Jesse Kremer! You have brought a national spotlight to Wisconsin with your nonsense! . You’ve distinguished yourself as a singularly outspoken kook, and for your efforts I’m proud to award you Blogging Blue’s ” Kook of the Month ” award. Well done, sir.
