What We Are Reading: Brazille Edition

With H/T to several of our regular readers:

Inside Hillary Clinton’s Secret Takeover of the DNC : I had promised Bernie when I took the helm of the Democratic National Committee after the convention that I would get to the bottom of whether Hillary Clinton’s team had rigged the nomination process, as a cache of emails stolen by Russian hackers and posted online had suggested. I’d had my suspicions from the moment I walked in the door of the DNC a month or so earlier, based on the leaked emails. But who knew if some of them might have been forged? I needed to have solid proof, and so did Bernie.

I considered replacing Clinton with Biden as 2016 Democratic nominee : Former Democratic National Committee head Donna Brazile writes in a new book that she seriously contemplated setting in motion a process to replace Hillary Clinton as the party’s 2016 presidential nominee with then-Vice President Biden in the aftermath of Clinton’s fainting spell, in part because Clinton’s campaign was “anemic” and had taken on “the odor of failure.”

No, the DNC didn’t ‘rig’ the Democratic primary for Hillary Clinton : In an excerpt from her forthcoming book, Brazile argues that the DNC provided the Clinton campaign with control over important decisions in exchange for financial support. In response, a number of political actors, including Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and President Trump, have argued that this proves that the DNC “rigged” the primary process against Sanders. In reality, the situation is considerably more complex. Brazile’s claims show that two things are true. First, the DNC preferred Clinton over Sanders, and provided her campaign with power over the committee in exchange for financial support. Second, while the DNC preferred Clinton, this may have had little impact on the actual outcome of the primaries.

Democrats are setting themselves up to lose : President Trump’s job approval rating fell to just 33 percent in a Gallup poll this week. One of his campaign aides pleaded guilty in the Russia probe and two more were indicted. Republicans are fighting over their tax plan, increasing the odds of yet another legislative debacle. It would seem that the midterm election is the Democrats’ to lose. And you can be sure they will try their best to do exactly that.

  1. Okay, if no crime was comitted let’s move on. And last time I looked Bernie was or is not currently a member of the Democratic party.

    1. Why all the vitriol with Bernie? He stands for expanding Medicare, Social Security, etc.

Something is really screwed up when our state Democratic Party lets David Clarke (a Tea Party libertarian, who wound up killing several people in his civic duty). Notice that his economic ideas are supposedly A-okay for Dems, but Dems largely don’t care to notice the difference.

The Clintons, Wasserman Schultz, and Brazile should move on to the private sector, where they can make loads of money while neglecting the voting populace they claim to represent.

“No crime was committed” is a very low standard to place your faith in.
