City of Milwaukee Stay At Home Still In Place

The Wisconsin State Supreme court ruling this afternoon only overturns the safer at home orders from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services and has no bearing on local municipality rules.

So Mayor Tom Barret would like to remind you that the city’s stay at home order is still in effect:

Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett said Wednesday that the city’s stay-at-home order is still in place, meaning Milwaukee bars and restaurants are still barred from reopening.

Barrett said that the court’s decision had no effect on the public health order issued by the City of Milwaukee Health Department in March.

“That order remains in effect, including all provisions on public gatherings, restaurants, and bar operations,” Barrett said in a statement.

Bars, restaurants and taverns in the city are still allowed to provide takeout, curbside pick-up and delivery.

Milwaukee officials have been working with other nearby local governments to finalize separate guidelines setting limits for how local businesses could reopen.

We’ll see what happens next…
