Apparently Wisconsin Republicans just don’t care if you die: I mean, they’ve sued the governor every chance they’ve had and it hasn’t helped. Wisconsin reports more than 5,200 cases, 64 deaths, shattering previous records in worst day of pandemic yet.
Wisconsin reached its most dire point yet Tuesday in the coronavirus crisis that has overtaken the state.
The state Department of Health Services reported 5,262 new cases and 64 deaths Tuesday, both records far above any previous daily counts.
The previous daily case record came one week ago with nearly 4,600 new cases.
The death toll now stands at 1,852.
State health officials in a news conference pleaded for people to stay home and leave only if absolutely necessary.
Maybe Badger football will wake them up? I mean, they are all rah rah go Badgers! And we had to play the Big Ten football season…like NOW!
Wisconsin might have to rely on fourth-string quarterback Danny Vanden Boom to lead the offense Saturday at Nebraska.
The Badgers opened the season without projected starter Jack Coan, who suffered a foot injury on Oct. 3 and underwent surgery four days later.
Redshirt freshman Graham Mertz completed 20 of 21 passes for 248 yards and five touchdowns in his starting debut, a 45-7 victory over Illinois.
However, sources told the Journal Sentinel that Mertz and No. 3 backup Chase Wolf tested positive for the coronavirus.
Mertz received a second positive test and is out. It is unclear whether Wolf received a second positive test.
btw: it case you were wondering, COVID-19 doesn’t affect young healthy people.
