While I understand that Alex Lasry being the son of a billionaire affords him a certain amount of privilege – and thus the opportunity to run for the United States Senate – I can’t help but think Democrats running the son of a billionaire who was handed what he has on a silver spoon isn’t exactly the best candidate to run against Ron Johnson. Instead of trading one rich guy (Johnson) for another (Lasry), I’d rather see a Democrat elected who might have some inkling of what it’s like to be someone from the middle class.
I’m in favor of any candidate that can the huge embarrassment out of office. I think Nelson is a good guy and a really good public servant…but not a great politician. He’s earned the respect of many conservatives in the valley for his work ethic, but lacks the charisma to appeal to a statewide electorate. So Lasry it is.
Ron Kind should run against Johnson.
