Report: Democratic Senate candidate Alex Lasry “surprised” Milwaukee has the same things as any city

To say the Senate campaign of Alex Lasry has gotten off to an odd start is a bit of an understatement. Putting aside the kerfuffle about Lasry having received a COVID-19 vaccination ahead of many others who are at far greater risk, a new report by Ryan Grim and Aida Chavez of The Intercept paints an unflattering picture of someone who really has no understanding of the community he wants to represent.

In talking about his relocation to Milwaukee after his billionaire father purchased the Milwaukee Bucks, Alex Lasry said this:

And when I came here, I think what most surprised me about Milwaukee is the fact that Milwaukee has all the same things as any city, especially any big city, has,” he continued.

If an out of touch, out of state rich kid is the best Wisconsin Democrats can muster against #OurDumbSenator Ron Johnson then we’re really in a lot of trouble; however that may not be the case, as there’s at least one other Democrat – current Outagamie County Executive Tom Nelson – who’s already entered the 2022 U.S. Senate race. If I were a betting man I’d put money on at least one or two more Democrats jumping into that race.

  1. “If an out of touch, out of state, married rich kid…….” Just add a word and you’ve described Johnson.

    1. Precisely. While I’m sure Alex Lasry’s politics are miles better than Ron Johnson’s I’d like to see a Democratic nominee who at least has SOME idea of what it’s like to live paycheck to paycheck.
