Reince Priebus considering a statewide run in 2022….really?!?!?

This is a couple of weeks old, but I just came across an account from WisPolitics.com that former White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus is considering a run for statewide office in 2022.

Former state and national GOP Chair Reince Priebus has been talking with Wisconsin Republicans about a statewide bid in 2022, according to a source who’s spoken with him.

Politico reported this morning that Priebus was exploring a bid for guv in 2022.

But the source told WisPolitics.com that the conversations were sparked in part by people reaching out to Priebus about a statewide run. The source added the U.S. Senate could be an option, too, if Republican Ron Johnson doesn’t run for reelection.

If Reince Priebus does run for statewide office in 2022 it should be an absolute hoot to see how he fares, given his on again/off again relationship with former President Donald Trump, who despite his many disgraces to his office and our country still somehow maintains his grip on the Republican Party.

  1. Evers and Priebus, talk about an exciting race……. The best one I can recall is “every morning the first thing I do is “Reince my Priebus off.”

    1. I agree the race wouldn’t be exciting, but I don’t need exciting from my elected officials/candidates. I’ll take competent/qualified and boring over charismatic and unqualified/incompetent.

  2. Even the likes of Priebus can win whatever they might want to run for now if the Biden Administration doesn’t demand that Harris overrule a US Senate parliamentarian and keep the main 2020 election promise coming from the Democratic candidates, Biden especially campaigned heavily on it, and include the $15/hr minimum wage hike, immediately.

Useless Wikler immediately tweets another fund-raiser demand against “shiny-object enemy” Rojo, instead of going after his own DNC to do the right thing by the voters they are going to need every one of, in 2022.

The Progressive Caucus can’t find 6 members to promise to withhold their votes when a changed Covid relief package bill comes back to them, but instead write a sternly worded letter to the Senate, asking politely for the minimum wage increase. Six Progressive Dems in the House, Jayapal, Porter, Omar, Pocan, Bowman, Ocasio-Cortez, Garcia, Lee, Grijalva, Dingell, Blumenauer, NONE OF THEM, will promise to withhold their vote and hold up the whole Covid Package if Kamala and Kompany don’t over-rule the parliamentarian, include and then pass the House version of the bill with the $15/hr minimum wage.

Dems are toast in 2022. DPW’s Wikler is complicit in their own ultimate DNC/Dem demise, nation-wide, i.e. Priebus easily becomes viable.

    1. I really hope you’re wrong about the Dems being toast in 2022. A stronger Senate majority (i.e. one that didn’t need Sens. Synema and Manchin) could probably get a lot accomplished – the issue is those two moderate Democrats.

  3. “Why do you think I would be a good candidate?”

He wouldn’t like the answer he would get from me.
