Spineless Mitch McConnell challenges President Biden to stand up to “partisans”

Speaking about the Democratic-led effort to expand the United States Supreme Court, Senate Minority Leader/obstructionist-in-chief Mitch McConnell mentioned his hope that President Biden stands up to the partisans pushing to expand the Supreme Court (emphasis added).

McConnell has strenuously warned Democrats not to add seats to the court, saying there is “nothing about the structure or operation of the judicial branch that requires ‘study.'”

He quoted remarks from Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who died in September, and liberal Justice Stephen Breyer, both of whom voiced skepticism about expanding the court.

“President Biden campaigned on a promise of lowering the temperature and uniting a divided nation,” McConnell said in a statement last week. “If he really meant it, he would stop giving oxygen to a dangerous, antiquated idea and stand up to the partisans hawking it.”

Of course, Sen. McConnell’s statement about President Biden standing up to the “partisans” pushing for an expansion of the Supreme Court is both ironic and ridiculous. During his decades-long career as an elected official Sen. McConnell has shown himself to be completely unwilling and unable to stand up to conservative partisans hawking dangerous and antiquated ideas.

The fact is, Mitch McConnell is as spineless a politician as this nation has probably ever seen, a fact borne out by how completely dominated McConnell was by Donald Trump during Trump’s disastrous term as president.

  1. Are republican politicians spineless cowards, or just masochistic female dogs to their masters?
