Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett asks MLB to bring All-Star game to Milwaukee

In response to a new Georgia law that has civil rights groups concerned about its potential to restrict voting access for people of color Major League Baseball has announced it is moving the 2021 MLB All-Star Game from Atlanta to a location to be determined. In response to the decision by MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett issued a statement encouraging MLB to consider Milwaukee as the new host city for the 2021 MLB All-Star Game.

I think Milwaukee would be a fitting location for the 2021 MLB All-Star Game, given the fact that the festivities will honor baseball legend Hank Aaron, who passed away earlier this year. As Mayor Barrett noted in his statement Hank Aaron began and ended his baseball career in Milwaukee, and many baseball fans in Milwaukee still hold a special place in their heart for Hank Aaron.
