It’s safe to say the late-night situation at NBC is a mess. It’s been rumored “The Jay Leno Show,” which airs at 10 p.m. Eastern Time, is going to be cancelled, with Leno moving back to the 11:35 p.m. time slot following the Winter Olympics on NBC, with Conan O’Brien moving to either 12:05 p.m. or to another network. Both Leno and O’Brien have been making light of the situation on their respective shows, and it will certainly be interesting to see how things play out.
First, here’s Jay Leno’s take on the situation:
And finally, here’s Conan’s take on the situation:
Personally, I’d love to see Conan O’Brien move to Fox, because I’d love to see Conan, Leno, and David Letterman go head to head to head.
But you know Fox would futz with everything – moving times & nights, and eventually just cancel it inexplicably.
Though NBC certainly isn’t any better, my how that network has fallen since the “Must See” days. Screw ’em for canceling Journeyman, Studio 60 and Life.
Locke, I’ll agree with you regarding the decisions NBC has made. I loved Studio 60 and Life, and I still don’t understand why the decision-makers at NBC didn’t stick with them.
Would Fox start Conan at 10 or 10:30? That could pose a challenge with no strong lead-in show at 9pm.
