It’s being reported Calumet County District Attorney Ken Kratz, who sent inappropriate and sexually suggestive text messages to the victim in a domestic violence case he was prosecuting, will not resign his position. Kratz has said he sought therapy after sending the messages and will be seeking more therapy, but is that enough?
Here’s a couple of questions to ponder:
- Do you believe Ken Kratz should have resigned his position?
- Do you think Kratz should be removed from office by Gov. Doyle or the State Assembly?
He should be removed, one way or another. If I lived in Calumet County, I’d be circulating recall petitions right now.
Yes, and yes. I’m not surprised he didn’t resign…afterall he is “the prize”. A man with such a high level of arrogance would never understand what an embarrassment he is…
Hey you! Welcome back!
Thanks Zach! 🙂
You’re welcome.
I’m embarrassed that this looks like the lawyers of the state have circled the wagons to protect this criminal activity. If OLR gave him a pass, they are useless at protecting Wisconsinites from their lawyers. Since DOJ has given him a pass, they need someone there who can read the statutes and then prosecute those who need to be prosecuted, even if they are DAs. Governor Doyle has been silent too long on this.
No, he shouldn’t be allowed to resign. He should be fired and jailed. He committed a crime. He needs to be punished.
He needs to go. I e-mail Governor Doyle’s office to say he should fire him.
I keep waiting for steve nass to stick his nose in and call for his removal. This is the kind of thing he loves when it happens to someone who doesnt agree with him. So I am sure he will jump on this topic, unless of course he is just a partisan hack…
Angry citizens with farm implements and crude torches need to circle around chanting and calling for his firing.
NO excuse what-so-ever.
“Counseling”, my ass. Go Go Assembly-power!
(Doyle is busy packing and won’t care)
What’s the usual process in a situation like this? The Governor and legislature have the power to remove him? If so, then they should probably do so. Maybe Doyle can replace him with another hack. Too bad he already appointed Pedro Colon to be a judge.
On a side note and a little off topic, in a previous post it was noted that this DA was elected a republican. Can someone explain to me why positions like this and sheriff are partisan positions? I mean, as a DA or sheriff they are supposed to enforce the law and why should that be done differently or based on what party they belong to? Judges aren’t elected based on party right?
Per the Wisconsin state Constitution, Gov. Doyle does have the power to remove Kratz under certain circumstances.
I would like to think that even if he WERE a Democrat, we would be calling for his removal. I like to think of liberals as the ethical side, but toovoften we fall into the old protect our own shtick as well.
