Canada doesn’t want the pipeline either. That’s not big news, but it’s now official. As billionaire climate activist Tom Steyer explains, “…the last of the arguments for the development of the Keystone Pipeline has collapsed.” So, he’s written an open letter to Obama, and it’s a good one:

Public Citizen’s recent revelations concerning the structural instability of the southern leg currently under construction elicit much consternation. A word to the wise – ground zero residents from the Exxon-Mobil Arkansas spill zone are now residents of an area too toxic to support human life. More accurately, though, they are not residents because they’ve been indefinitely displaced.
The Tar Sands oil spill there is quickly wiping out the environment surrounding ground zero. The likelihood of restoring the area to pre-spill conditions isn’t likely. I think it’s worth repeating that residents from the ground zero Mayflower disaster still haven’t returned to their homes because the area remains too toxic.

A farce it is. A surreal farce at that. If I were a gambler, I’d wager the Obama administration will still give it the green light. If so, he’s signaling the Democratic Party in the wrong direction in a way that just may seriously disrupt any political advantage they could garner in the future. If the Democratic Party tacks left between now and 2025, the GOP thereafter might just recede into crotchety obscurity. But, I’m not a gambler. 🙂

Good thing i’m not the wagering kind. Though where Walker learned his grift isn’t Obama. Credit where credit is due. Doesn’t help to muddy the waters. Both have a common source.
Merely by orders of magnitude, PJ. Walker is realizing his big dreaming is still Bush league. Agreeing on who and what industry is “greasing,” those skids.
I don’t follow, NQ. Not sure where you’re slicing.
