From Blues Around the World Liner Notes:
A member of the nomadic Tuareg tribe who inhabit the western Sahara Desert region, Amar Sundy was raised in France but returned to the desert mountains of Algeria in his late teens to explore his cultural roots. The Tuaregs are known as “the blue men of the desert” because of their blue turbans. Upon his return to Paris, he began playing guitar in subway stations and eventually became a regular performer in Parisian blues clubs.
Surprised that he is singing in Anglais. Quite good. Have a lot of respect for the French savoir faire & joie de vivre.
