Seventeen years later the world is still an unsettled place. We are still at war in Afghanistan. We still owe our first responders our full support and gratitude.
And a moment of remembrance for all of those who died, those who lost loved ones, or those were effected by the attack on our nation on 9/11/2001.
These were lifted from today’s history notes in the local paper:
“If we learn nothing else from this tragedy, we learn that life is short and there is no time for hate” Sandi Dahl whose husband, Jason Dahl, was the pilot of Flight 93, hijacked on 9/11
And in a different place and time in American politics:
In 2008, just ten years ago, presidential candidates, John McCain and Barack Obama, put aside politics as they visited ground zero together on the anniversary of 9/11 to honor its victims
The president is going to visit the new memorial in Pennsylvania honoring the victims of Flight 93. Let us hope that in the spirit of Senator McCain and President Obama…and the gracious Sandi Dahl…that we can put aside politics today and honor our victims of tragedy.
