Yesterday I brought you the story of Tim Proffitt, the now-former Bourbon County Coordinator for the campaign of Republican U.S. Senate candidate Rand Paul. You’ll remember Proffitt stomped on the head of Lauren Valle, but instead of being contrite and apologizing for his actions, Proffitt is actually asking for an apology from the woman he assaulted:
“I don’t think it’s that big of a deal,” Profitt said. “I would like for her to apologize to me to be honest with you.”
I’m not exactly sure why Tim Proffitt thinks Lauren Valle ought to apologize to him, but he’s certainly a Grade-A jackass, and he’s my Idiot of the Week, in addition to being a dirtbag.
Even worse, Conway is attempting to benefit from the incident by turning it into an attack ad.

… How is that worse?
Those two instances are hard to compare to each other. I mean, yes I realize one is for political gain but the other person who could have injured the woman, even killed a woman with that curb stomping is saying he never did anything wrong.
Speaking of stomping, the Kentucky post reported that both candidate’s supporters were guilty. A Conway supporter had stomped on the foot of a Rand supporter, who was in a boot from foot surgery.

In my opinion, exploitation of violence for political gain is much more sinister than isolated acts of violence as the exploitation will inevitably leads to more violence. Now, we have to worry about all these nutjobs trying to pick fights so that the supporters of the other candidate look like bigger nutjobs. This type of crap has got to stop.
Whoa, holy crap that is not okay. You should not attack each other for something like this, seriously. Overall, violence isn’t cool at all and I don’t care which side or who partakes in it. Nothing can justify those actions honestly.
Honestly, I understand where you are coming from and that was low and extremely skeevy of that campaign to use that for their own political gain. However, they’re kind of in their own ways separate if I can explain? In a way that some people couldn’t control their anger and lost it (extremely bad, they’re still responsible.) while the political is more distant and sinister using something terrible that happened to their own advantage.
They’re both bad in my opinion, I just think the one with physical harm was a “Whoa wait control yourselves” first.
Yeah, I’ll agree that it’s crappy of Conway’s campaign to attempt to use the issue to further their campaign.
Gee Zach funny how you failed to mention a Conway supporter stomped on the surgical boot of someone who had just had ankle surgery breaking that wound at the same event.
She was a woman as well, do you condone abusing women? You must as you didn’t mention that.
Fred, I haven’t seen any charges/summons filed in that case, unlike this one. I also haven’t seen any video, unlike this situation.
There was a charge for assault but no video
As I said in another thread, it’s not acceptable for either side to be engaging in this kind of behavior.
