7-term Congressman Paul Ryan supports term limits…no really, he does!

QUESTIONER: “Would you and Governor Romney consider a proposal to term-limit the members of Congress? Example, two six-year terms for U.S. senators and six two-year terms for a member of Congress.”

PAUL RYAN: “I agree with that. I’ve always supported that in Congress.” “I’ve always believed that this should be something that you serve temporary, not for an entire lifetime.”

It’s worth noting that for all his support of term limits, such as two 6-year terms for Senators and six 2-year terms for members of the House of Representatives, Paul Ryan is currently serving his SEVENTH term in Congress while campaigning for his EIGHTH.

So while Paul Ryan says he supports term limits, his support certainly seems to be nothing more than a lie.

  1. If the people who believed in term limits voluntarily term-limited themselves, they would never be around long enough to pass legislation in favor of term limits! So until everyone is subject to term limits, the playing field isn’t level.

Four years ago BHO said he was for no more lobbyists and supported spending cuts and look how that turned out. His support certainly seems to be nothing more than LIES, as proven over the last term. Let’s not forget his stance against the debt ceiling in his short time in the Senate. (I can find the transcript for you, Mr. President.)

In the last debate he even said he believed everyone should be self-reliant. Aside from being laughable, that is most certainly a lie.

  2. FLASHBACK:
“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. … Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that ‘the buck stops here. Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.” — Senator Barack Obama, 2006

If those words were true in 2006, why aren’t they true in 2012? He should withdraw from the race. I couldn’t agree more with Senator Obama. America deserves better than President Obama.
