Busalacchi to Obama’s administration?

Say it ain’t so!

Transportation industry sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Busalacchi, Wisconsin state secretary of transportation since 2003 and a former secretary-treasurer for the Teamsters local in Milwaukee, is a more likely candidate for head of the Federal Railroad Administration.

I couldn’t be less enthused about Frank “King of the Highways” Busalacchi as a possible member of the Obama administration, simply because I think he’s done a piss-poor job of promoting rail as Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. However, putting aside Busalacchi’s failure to promote anything other than expansion of our state’s highway system as a reason he shouldn’t get a promotion, there’s also the fact that he’s proven himself to be a liability to his current boss. Between the $685,000 Marquette Interchange web site and the open records violations under Busalacchi’s watch, he’s not fit for a promotion.
