I guess there’s at least one criminal who has no Christmas spirit:
Police are looking for a man who who broke into a Cudahy church and stole about 30 gift bags that were supposed to go to area low-income families. The gifts, valued at about $1,000, were taken from underneath the Catholic church’s “giving tree.”
Authorities say the same man may have attempted to take items from a church in Milwaukee and may have been spotted acting suspiciously at an Oak Creek church.
I’m not naive when it comes to crime and criminals – in fact, I can be a cynic, but stealing Christmas presents from a church? Either this crime is a sign of someone’s deep desperation because they couldn’t provide a Christmas for their loved ones, or it’s the mark of someone truly despicable, but either way, it’s a sad commentary on the depths some people will sink to.
