Say it ain’t so, Sen. Kohl

Controversial health care reforms – including a public option to compete with private insurance – and other major policy changes affecting the health care industry likely won’t happen this year, U.S. Sen. Herb Kohl, D-Wis., said Monday afternoon in Eau Claire.

Perhaps a few readers would like to send Sen. Kohl an email  (with grace and charity, please)  over at his website that expresses your support for healthcare reform this year. I will.

  1. I personally think this is a good thing. We need to slow things down and really understand what the bill says…and make changes if need be.

I don’t know that I believe it. But I’ll just repeat my refrain on this topic…maybe if they set aside the colossal power grab and disaster that they’ve started with and actually target some of the specific problems, we could get some real, reasonable and effective healthcare reform.

There are dozens of changes that could be passed easily – but gradually improving the system would be letting a “crisis” go to waste.

  3. My comment to Senator Kohl:
I am adamantly in favor of the public option as and essential part of health care reform. I’m asking Senator Kohl to do all he can in support of the public option. Thank you.

Kohl is right: the reforms we need won’t happen this year–unless we fight for them.

    1. Mary Ray, you’re right – we’re going to need to fight and make our voices heard if we want real health care reform.
