  1. The Palins’ lawyer said Bristol Palin is already an “ambassador” and speaker for the Candie’s Foundation, a group that uses celebrity appearances and PSAs to promote abstinence among teens.

You work for the city and run a blog…… She sounds infinitely more qualified than you but you just wanted to find a way to bash a Palin….. Nice.

    1. I don’t work for the city.

As for Bristol Palin speaking for Candie’s Foundation, it’s worth noting she talks to teens about abstinence….something she clearly knows a lot about.

    2. Really, E? You’ve got to admit all she has going is her last name. If any other 19 year old tried to start a PR firm they’d be laughed out of the bank they were asking for the loan from, unless they were from another family with some money and plenty of name recognition, of course.

  2. Hi Zach,
    Greetings from snowy Madison.

You already do run a “PR firm”, it’s called Blogging Blue and it’s a great one. PR is about effective communications that reaches an audience and you do that. Thanks for being a leader in letting the light shine in.

    Paul

    1. Thanks Paul, but I still think I’ve got a lot more to offer to the world of PR and consulting. Now I just need a snappy name for my firm.

  3. Well I guess you could have posted…
I’m gonna be President of the United States…. After all, if someone as thoroughly unqualified as Barack Obama can do it, why can’t I?
    Just an observation.

  4. Jim, isn’t PR all about name recognition and the ability to create buzz? Note the brief article didn’t say what she was specifically planning to do. And these days who doesn’t use their name recognition or appearance on a reality show to their advantage?

Would you be happier if all she did was speed around on her snow machine, ala Al Gore’s son?

What makes Jesse Jackson qualified to shake down corporations? The list could go on and on… but this one’s name happens to be Palin.

    1. Being relatively young myself I will jump all over anyone with any unearned success, or even the prospect of it. Something to do with me having little in that department, I suspect.
You’re right with your first sentence.

      1. Well just about every young up-and-comer has the prospect of unearned success. I mean, every one gets their first break somehow without having anything to back it up. It’s not always fair, but you work with the hand you’re dealt.

Ms. Palin is free to start up this PR thing, but that doesn’t mean she will be successful. Like I said before, we don’t have any info on what her plans are.

Jim, you must have a lot of qualms with people in Hollywood and politics! 🙂

        1. Yeah, them and pretty much everybody. I’ve also got an unjustified sense of entitlement, the same trait I hate in others.
