Yeah, but…
But….?
There was an open mic…not exactly “Presidential” or “Vice Presidential”…IMO. Maybe it he could have saved it for the bar over drinks when children aren’t watching?
Eh, you have a point, but at the same time, it’s not as if VP’s haven’t said worse. After all, Dick Cheney told Sen. Patrick Leahy to go f**k himself on the floor of the United States Senate.
My takeaway from this is that it shows that Joe Biden was really passionate about health care reform, and sometimes folks who are passionate about an issue let their emotion get the better of them. Was it not exactly “vice presidential?” Sure, but at the same time, the VP’s still a person, and people aren’t always perfect.
Biden’s was a “fleeting expletive” like Bono’s at that awards show, according to the FCC. Cheney’s wouldn’t have been. But I’m in no position to lecture someone on language. Mostly because I don’t care much about obscenity.
Hey…I’m well aware people aren’t perfect. I’m faaaarrr from being perfect and as you probably know…I curse too…BUT…he’s the VP…he really should have more control over himself…at least in in front of an open mic. I don’t get offended by cursing unless it’s done in the wrong place and the wrong time and by people who should be setting an example.
BTW…I have less of a problem with Dick Cheney cursing under the circumstances.
Less of a problem with Cheney? Why? Because tons of people weren’t watching? Makes sense if that is the case, Cheney’s seems to be much ruder though.
Because Cheney was pissed…and I can understand people cursing more when they are pissed. I usually only curse when I’m pissed or if I’m trying to make a point by being a jerk. OMG…that sounds terrible…LOL.
I think if he had to do it over again he wouldn’t have said it, or at least said it so close to a live mic.
But one of my favorite things about Rahm Emanuel is his mouth so this doesn’t make me like Joe less.
And why is it a “Big F’ing Deal”?
Rep. John Dingell knows!…
“The harsh fact of the matter is when you’re going to pass legislation that will cover 300 [million] American people in different ways it takes a long time to do the necessary administrative steps that have to be taken to put the legislation together TO CONTROL THE PEOPLE.”
Gee, this is similar to what Biden said last week about controlling the insurance companies. But then I was told that ol’ Joe was just a crazy uncle and that his comments didn’t count for much.
Well now Dingell. Your “crazy uncles” are starting to add up. And they are letting it slip that this is all about more government control over our lives.
The other thing about this that is just idiotic. Aside from the expletive, was it really at all necessary? Did he really think he had to let the President know this?
It’s about on par with Sean Payton turning to Breese after the clock runs out & saying, “hey, this was really a big win.”
Thanks Joe, it’s that type of senior leadership that makes your role so critical. 🙂
Wow…….I must be losing my hearing, I watched the entire speech yesterday, I didn’t catch it.
