  1. after all your ranting about tax cheats in the last election, you endorse one. HYPOCRITE

  2. “though you’re obviously free to vote for whomever you choose.”

Unless you belong to a union ….. there is no freedom when it comes to unions.

  3. Ray: I’m assuming you’re talking about Abele, and his tax lien.

A tax lien is not evidence of cheating or fraud.

“The existence of a tax lien does not require that there was some malfeasance,” said Robert Teuber, a tax expert with Weiss Berzowski Brady who is not supporting either candidate. “It just requires that there was a disagreement on whether something was treated a certain way for taxes.”

  4. I can’t wait to see the results! May the good guys win and the evil Rethugs go bye bye!

  5. For those of you concerned about Mr. Abele’s lien, please refer to Stacie’s post. For those of you concerned about Mr. Abele not paying any taxes the past few years, please refer to your elected officials who keep giving away the farm to the RICH!

  6. Ed: Yup. The tax code is full of ways, and the phone book is full of professionals who can find the ways, for rich individuals to avoid paying taxes at all. Wealth isn’t taxed; income is. Have no income and you don’t pay taxes, even if you’re sitting on billions of dollars of small unmarked bills stuffed in a very large metaphorical mattress. Donate enough of your wealth to offset your income and you don’t pay taxes. I don’t fault Abele (or, for that matter, anyone else–Republican, Democratic, independent) for taking advantage of those laws (I’m sure all of us here would gladly do the same if in a position to do so). I fault the laws for being that way in the first place.

  7. Missed voting – probably the first general I’ve missed since I turned 18. (Not counting partisan only primaries since I’ve missed some of those in the past & made a conscious decision not to vote in the last few as a member of neither party.) And it was a surprise or I’d have made plans. We were scheduled for Thursday & babies 1 & 2 were nothing

Baby Locke #3 was born today! Healthy baby boy & Mrs. Locke is also doing well. The boys now outnumber the girls 3 to 2. Not that it matters – we’re still totally outmatched. 🙂

    1. Congratulations on your healthy baby boy! If you’re going to miss voting, having a baby is a great reason!

Glad to hear baby Locke and Mrs. Locke are both doing well.
