From the Wisconsin Policy Research Institute, “Wisconsin’s Free Market Think Tank,” comes this less than good news for Republican Governor Scott Walker.
11. Now let’s turn to the political scene here in Wisconsin. Overall, do you strongly approve, somewhat approve, somewhat disapprove, or strongly disapprove of the way Scott Walker is handling his job as Governor of Wisconsin?
Strongly approve ……………………………………………. 24
Somewhat approve………………………………………….. 18
Somewhat disapprove …………………………………….. 11
Strongly disapprove ……………………………………….. 45
Don’t know / Refused……………………………………….. 2
You can check out the poll’s crosstabs HERE.
Now keep in mind that as “Wisconsin’s Free Market Think Tank,” WPRI isn’t exactly a bastion of liberalism, so the fact that their polling shows such strong disapproval for the job Scott Walker has done as governor certainly can’t be seen as a good thing, especially in the face of a looming recall of Gov. Walker.
The people who gave me those questions should lose their jobs at WPRI. The way they worded it was totally bull:
“Who do you think has a better plan for the states economy, Scott Walker or his unnamed opponent?”
“How strongly do you agree with the fiscal policies of Scott Walker’s unnamed opponent?”
I was polite mind you in my answers, because I know how it feels to be shouted over the phone. But still, good lord. That wording.
I’m not sure if it’s the same one or not, but I got it a few days ago in a survey. It still was a case of: What the hell, in terms of how it cornered you into feeling like such an asshole.
