Democratic Party of Wisconsin files complaint against Scott Walker

Earlier today the Democratic Party of Wisconsin (DPW) filed a complaint with the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board (GAB) alleging Republican Gov. Scott Walker’s recall election campaign illegally coordinated the release of farcicial new new jobs numbers that magically pulled roughly 57,000 jobs out of a hat with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development, a state agency headed by Walker appointee Reggie Newsom, in order to boost Walker’s chances in the June 5 election.

Here’s a copy of the DPW’s complaint.

  1. Penalties for violating the 2 statutes seem pretty light. Fines not to exceed $5000.00 and one year in prison? Not much of deterrent. I’d say those penalties need to be updated to reflect the levels of corruption (and ensuing damage) of the modern day.
