  1. But the thing is, he is so out of touch that he would never even understand how revolting that invitation would be to the average working class person.

  2. Liberals and Progressives, take heed. BOTH candidates are doing this kind of thing. Even without Citizens United, fundraising has “risen” or sunk, depending on one’s point of view, to a penultimate importance.
How many fundraising calls and emails have you gotten from, MoveOn.org, the Dem Gov Assn, the Obama Campaign, whose Lottery for an Evening With the Political Stars is in full swing. These all come with price tags, although they are certainly not in this Yacht price range. But, when the invites go out to they yachting class from the DNC, or the Obama Camp, they have just as big a ticket.
We can criticize Mr. Romney on many counts, but this tactic seems a bit like calling someone else’s pot the same colour as our own kettle. The formal invite with the numbers plain as day are out front, anyway. I am sure that every wealthy donor to Democratic causes and candidates has clear, if not as neatly formal, financial expectations imparted to them. Try again. I am sure we can find a better Achilles heel for the target of any arrows shot Romney’s way.

  3. P.S. No charge for members of the U.S. Supreme Court who supported Citizens United.

  4. Didn’t Sarah Jessica Parker just host a similar thing for Obama? Am I supposed to apply a different standard to him?

  5. Sarah Jessica Parker’s event was $40,000 per plate, so it was more for us commoners.

  6. Got to agree with Dan. Both partys are out of copntrol with their catering to the wealthy. I simply can’t in good conscience vote straight Dem anymore. I guess I’ll go back to the days of voting for Shirley Chisholm types; people who are passionate and not run by special interests.

    1. “…PEOPLE WHO ARE PASSIONATE AND NOT RUN BY SPECIAL INTERESTS.”

CAN YOU NAME ANY IN THE WISCONSIN LEGISLATURE?
